Our patch

In our patch we cover three counties Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West with a registered population of 1,940,097 people. There is one ambulance trust, three acute/integrated trusts where maternity and neonatal services are provided, two mental health trusts of which perinatal mental health services are situated and five local authorities. There are 48 primary care networks.

OUHFT is a tertiary level unit and has a L3 NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) unit which looks after babies from extremely premature neonates to term neonates who have had difficult deliveries and babies with antenatally diagnosed conditions. Both RBFT and BHT are LNUs (local neonatal units). Local neonatal units (LNUs) provide special care for babies in their local area, except for those who are very unwell and need complex or longer-term intensive care.
